Day by day

Day 1 Blois

Arrive in Blois, a charming town on the banks of the Loire. Blois is best known for its impressive château, former seat of the kings of France, where Renaissance history is revealed in every corner of its walls. Stroll through its picturesque streets and admire the view over the Loire Valley. Don’t miss the Maison de la Magie, dedicated to the world of magic and illusion, and the Church of Saint-Nicolas, a fine example of Gothic architecture. Blois is the ideal starting point for immersing yourself in the history and beauty of this region.

Day 2 Blois – Amboise  41 km

From Blois to Amboise, your cycling tour takes you through the enchanting landscapes of the Loire Valley. Along the way, you’ll discover picturesque villages and spectacular views of the Loire, with its wild banks and verdant forests. Your first stop is Chaumont-sur-Loire, where the château, dominated by its impressive keep, and the garden festival are well worth a visit. You’ll then continue on to Montlivault, a charming typical village, before reaching Amboise. On arrival, you’ll be greeted by the majestic Château d’Amboise, emblematic royal residence of François I, and last home of Leonardo da Vinci. Take time to visit Le Clos Lucé, where the artist spent his last years, and enjoy a breathtaking view of the town and the Loire River from the castle ramparts. This historic and picturesque stop-off offers the perfect blend of heritage, nature and culture.

Day 3 Amboise – Azay le Rideau 56 km

From Amboise to Azay-le-Rideau, your cycling tour will take you through magnificent scenery and rich history. Leaving Amboise, you’ll cycle through the tranquil countryside of the Loire Valley, bordered by vineyards and forests, before reaching the village of Cheverny. Here, you can admire the château, a splendid example of French classical architecture, and its park, home to majestic stags. Continuing on, you’ll arrive in Azay-le-Rideau, where the château of the same name awaits you, surrounded by gentle waters and lush gardens. This Renaissance gem, with its unique elegance and idyllic setting, is one of the finest châteaux in the region. Stroll around the château, explore its richly decorated rooms and soak up the serenity of the setting.

Day 4 Azay-le-Rideau – Saumur 54 km

From Azay-le-Rideau to Saumur, your cycling stage takes you through the heart of the Loire Valley, with its landscapes of forests, meadows and vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see. Along the way, you’ll pass through typical villages, where the charm of the local architecture blends with the beauty of the rural landscape. Take a break in Langeais to discover its medieval castle, impressive for its fortifications and historic atmosphere. Continuing on, you’ll arrive in Saumur, a town renowned for its château, which overlooks the Loire and offers spectacular views of the river and its surroundings. The Château de Saumur, with its fairytale architecture, will immerse you in medieval history. Don’t miss a visit to the École de Cavalerie and Musée des Blindés, which bear witness to the region’s military and equestrian importance. This stopover combines natural beauty, historical heritage and the soul of the Loire.

Day 5 Saumur –  Angers 54 km

From Saumur to Angers, your cycling tour takes you through varied landscapes, between vineyards, rivers and forests, with the Loire River as a common thread. You’ll pass through picturesque villages where time seems to stand still, offering panoramic views typical of the region. Take a break in Montsoreau, one of France’s most beautiful villages, to discover its picturesque chateau on the banks of the Loire and its tranquil atmosphere. Arriving in Angers, the city reveals itself with its imposing Château d’Angers, a medieval fortress housing the famous Apocalypse Tapestry, a masterpiece of the Middle Ages. Stroll through the historic center, with its half-timbered houses and cobbled streets, and discover the Jardins du Quai, offering a beautiful view of the Loire River.
