Characteristics of this journey/holiday

Day by day

Day 1 Linz

A warm welcome is awaiting children and adults alike. Check-in. Dispersal of travel  documents will follow. The rest of the day is up to you and at your leisure. Possibilities: let  yourself be drifted away into a different world where you and your children can experience  a new type of travel on the Dragon Train through the Land of Dwarves with a magical  backdrop of the historical and stunning city of Linz.

Day 2 Linz – Mitterkirchen, approx. 40 km

Today we tour into a celtic open-air museum. In a village representing the Iron Age, you are  shown and presented the ways of living and lifestyles of the long past. Accommodations for  this night will be in a cosy farmhouse in the region of Machland. Dinner will be served with  exceptional hospitality and catered with delicious Austrian homemade specialties.

Day 3 Mitterkirchen – Strudengau, approx. 40 km

Old markets and castles nestled in forested rolling hills are along the path on your way to  Strudengau. In the Maritime Museum of Grein, you will find impressive models of ancient  ship building craftsmanship and early naval architecture. In Ardagger there is a paradise of   recreation and pleasure. A water park recreational facility and sandy beach volleyball courts  are just the beginning of the endless possibilities for fun and action. Enjoy!

Day 4 Strudengau – Wachau, approx. 50 km

Shortly after Pöchlarn, you will enter into the world-renowned valley of the Wachau, one of  the most gorgeous riverside landscapes Europe has to offer. The impressive and breath taking Benedictine Abbey of Melk overlooks the city and can be seen from afar. Cycling  through the seemingly endless vineyards you will reach the winery village of Spitz, built  around the so-called “1000-bucket-hill”.

Day 5 Wachau (day of rest)

You can enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Wachau and explore the castle of Dürnstein or  Aggstein, visit the museum of ship building in Spitz or take a bath in the beautiful Danube  river.

Day 6 Wachau – Stockerau, approx. 50 km + train ride Krems-Tulln

Starting the day by biking through a spectacular landscape with steep rock walls, sun-kissed  terraced vineyards, beautifully blooming orchards, quaint villages, dignified monasteries and  authentic castles, take advantage of all the splendid panoramic outlooks, until you reach  Stockerau.

Day 7 Stockerau – Vienna, approx. 25 km

The goal in mind you cycle comfortably towards Vienna. You will have a fantastic view of the  skyline, far away from the fast-paced city and all the traffic. Vienna is a city that loves its  music and food. Kids will have a great time enjoying traditional sweets and hot chocolate. At  nearly every corner you’ll hear waltzes, impromptu violin concerts and various street  performers. When the kids need a change of pace, head to the eastside of Vienna to ride the  worlds’ oldest ferris wheel and run around the fun filled all-year-round amusement park  “Prater”.

Day 8 Vienna

Before leaving Vienna, make sure to visit the famous Naschmarkt (international  foods/goods) and stop by the beautiful imperial castle Schönbrunn or even the Zoo. The  train ride is provided back to Linz (personal bike with surcharge), or of course you can  extend your stay in the City of Music.
