Exciting weekend at the CMT fair in Stuttgart
An exciting weekend lies behind us. It was time again to start the tourism season with the CMT fair in Stuttgart, Germany. Hall 9 was once again dedicated to hiking and cycling holidays. Thanks to a visitor record of 90,000 visitors, interesting encounters arose again for us. Well-known faces, good friends and new interested parties have gathered for a glass of Crémant at our beautiful stand. Our classic tours in Burgundy and Provence were particularly in demand again this year. But the new offers through Bordeaux, the Basque Country and along the Canal du Midi have also created great interest. With regard to travel abroad, the trend went to Tanzania and Vietnam.
Our new banner attracted many curious glances: the beautiful river valley at Saint Jean Pied de Port on the guided bike tour through the Basque Country gives an idea of the beauty of this romantic region.
On Saturday, the rush was so high that our France à Vélo team was busy the whole day. The interest of so many people made our cyclists’ hearts beat faster and it was nice to see that cycling and especially cycling holidays are becoming increasingly popular and people are switching to green and decelerated holidays.
Of course, the innovations on the bicycle market were also interesting for us as a travel operator. A lot has happened, especially in the e-bike sector. Technology is developing rapidly and is becoming more and more sophisticated. We were especially pleased to see our partner “Vélo de Ville” again.
During nice conversations we enjoyed a glass of the delicious Crémant de Bourgogne with our guests. New visitors got a first impression of our Northern Burgundy tours as the visit of the production and the tasting of the sparkling wine is part of the program on our tours in North Burgundy. Those who had already traveled there dreamed of their past cycling holiday.
Southern Brittany was particularly popular again this year. The latest book by Commissaire Dupin, published in 2019, has certainly again contributed to the increased interest in this wonderful region. The area around Concarneau is described in the novels with great attention to detail and makes you dream of the flowery Brittany.
During the two intensive days, guests were also offered a lot of program on the event stage. Anyone interested could find out about the right e-bike and the latest cycling trends or get inspiration for new trips.
We are definitely pleased about the high level of interest and are already looking forward to the start of the season with great motivation.
