Day 1 Reims
On your arrival in Reims, you might have time to visit the beautiful city of Reims. City if Culture and History. Take the time to walk to the wonderful Cathedral of Reims. This cathedral was the unique place where the king of France was sacred since the 10th century. It’s a unique masterpiece of the gothic style and classified as a UNESCO site. Even though the cathedral suffered from the 2 world wars, you will enjoy the great work of renovation. In Reims, you can also visit some house of champagne and finish with a Champagne tasting.
Day 2 Reims – Epernay 47 km
You start your cycling day along canal Aisne – Marne. We leave the city of Reims on the quiet towpath along the canal with the bikes. Hilly part of the Champagne vineyards. In Chigny les Roses a stop is necessary, here 41 wine cellars exist. You can stop on the way for your first experience with the Champagne IN the Champagne! The tour ends in Epernay, time to discover the Avenue of Champagne.
Day 3 Epernay – Epernay 35 km
Before starting your cycling day, you will discover the worldwide well-known Champagne maker: Moët & Chandon/Mercier with a visit and tasting. Today the route will lead you through some charming wine growing villages. The appellation is here for most of them: Blanc de Blanc. The landmark is very typical for the Champagne region. You will have many possibility to stop by at a Wine maker to taste the very delicate Blanc de Blanc Champagne. Easy cycling back to Epernay.
Day 4 Departure
It is now time to say goodbye – au revoir et à bientôt!
